Exhibit Set-Up

Students will set up their exhibits on the Friday before the Fair. You must bring everything that will be displayed on Saturday with you at this time for safety approval. Parents and other visitors will be allowed into the exhibit area at this time only to help the student carry equipment. It is the policy of the Metro Richmond Science Fair that the project belongs to the student in all ways, which includes setting up the display for the judging.

After setting up his/her display, the student must wait by the project for a safety officer to check the exhibit for compliance with the Fair requirements. The signed safety certificate must be displayed with the project.

If students have items which they do not want to leave overnight at the Fair site, they should take those things home on Friday. They should plan to arrive about 15 minutes before their registration time on Saturday and report to the person at the registration desk. The student only will be escorted to his/her exhibit to complete the display. Just remember that the judges will have already previewed your project by the time you arrive, so every effort should be made to leave all parts of your display set up on Friday.

No parents/guardians will be allowed into the exhibit area at this time.
