What to Expect on Fair Day Senior Division students should plan to spend the entire morning at the judging site. They will be interviewed not only by the judges, but also by people who are selecting winners for Special Awards. Students should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the judging to register and attend a brief orientation. After the interviews and the announcement of the Finalists, students will be allowed to leave. The Finalists will return in the afternoon for the second round of judging, during which the ISEF representative(s) will be selected. All students should return for the Awards Assembly. Only students being judged will be allowed into the exhibit areas until the exhibits are open to the public at the completion of the judging. Parents and teachers must remain in the auditorium or other public area. Junior Division students will be notified of their judging time prior to the Fair, and should plan to arrive at the Fair site at least 30 minutes before that time for registration. All students must register and report to the auditorium for a brief orientation before their judging interview. After they have finished their interview with the judges, students may leave the Fair site and return that afternoon for the Awards Assembly. Only those students being judged will be allowed into the exhibit areas until the exhibits are open to the public at the completion of the judging. Parents and teachers must remain in the auditorium or other public area. At the conclusion of the judging the exhibits
are opened to the public. Therefore, for security purposes, students should
remove any materials from their exhibits which may be damaged by, dangerous
to, or removed by the public, after their interview. Students must remove,
or arrange for the removal of, their exhibits at the conclusion of the
Awards Assembly. |
