| Team Projects
Team Projects are projects which are conducted by 2 or 3 students in any of the Fair categories. Students entering a project as a team will compete in a separate “Team Category” regardless of the subject of their study. At this time, teams are not eligible to advance directly to the ISEF from the Metro Richmond Science Fair. The top 2 teams, however, will advance to the Virginia State Science & Engineering Fair and could win a trip to the ISEF from there. Teams can consist of no more than 3 students. The make-up of the team cannot be changed during a given research year, nor can a team project become an individual project or an individual project become a team project. If the project is continued into another research year, the team make-up can be changed at that time. Each team will appoint a team leader to coordinate the project and register with the MRSF. Only this person should register online. All Fair paperwork will be sent to the team leader. The team leader will also act as the spokesperson for the team, but all members of the team should be prepared to be questioned equally by the judges. It is extremely important that the final project reflect the combined work of all the team members. The team will submit one Checklist for Adult Sponsor (Form 1) and one Student Checklist & Research Plan (Form 1A). Each member of the team must submit a separate Approval Form (Form 1B), however, since this form carries the student’s and parent’s signatures. It is important to put ALL team members’ names on all forms except the Approval Form.
